Assassin's Creed Mirage, developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft, is the upcoming 13th major installment in the series, succeeding Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It's set to launch on October 5, 2023, for multiple platforms, with an iOS release on iPhone 15 Pro models in early 2024.
Mirage's story is primarily set in 861 Baghdad during the Samarra anarchy and follows Basim Ibn Ishaq's journey from street thief to a full-fledged Assassin Brotherhood member. They battle the Templar Order, who seek control instead of peace. The game returns to the series' roots, emphasizing linear storytelling and stealth gameplay over recent RPG elements.
Gameplay-wise, Assassin's Creed Mirage is a linear, story-focused action-adventure stealth game with core elements like parkour, close combat, and stealth. It adopts the "Black Box" design for assassination missions, as seen in previous titles like Unity and Syndicate.
The game's main setting is Baghdad, featuring various districts and the fortress headquarters of the Hidden Ones. It's smaller in scale compared to recent titles in the series.
