In 2023, Respawn Entertainment developed "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor," an action-adventure souls like game published by Electronic Arts. This title is the sequel to "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" (2019), continuing the journey of young Jedi Knight Cal Kestis and his companions as they endure the oppression of the Galactic Empire, set five years after the previous game. The game launched on April 28, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, with versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in development. While receiving positive reviews overall, the PC version faced criticism for technical issues.

Gameplay in "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" retains many elements from its predecessor and introduces several new features. Cal Kestis engages in lightsaber combat, wielding five distinct lightsaber types, each with unique characteristics. Building on the single and double-bladed stances from the previous game, the dual-wield attack expands into a distinct stance, having initially been intended as a playable stance in "Fallen Order." Additionally, a new stance employs a Kylo Ren-style crossguard lightsaber, requiring precise timing for effective use, especially when blocking and parrying. Another new stance, the blaster stance, allows the player to combine lightsaber and blaster attacks for both close and ranged combat. These varied stances are strategically designed to combat specific enemy types, encouraging players to determine the best weapon for each situation.

New abilities include a Force stasis skill akin to Kylo Ren's in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," allowing players to suspend enemies and blaster bolts mid-air. The game offers extensive cosmetic customization options, expanding beyond the limited choices in "Fallen Order." Players can customize Cal's entire outfit, along with hairstyle and facial hair. A new lightsaber color option, a white blade, is introduced in the game's lightsaber customization feature.

Jedi: Survivor's level design showcases more expansive maps filled with a higher number of non-player characters compared to "Fallen Order." The game focuses on the planet Koboh, featuring a dense central area surrounded by more open outskirts, encouraging exploration and revisits. The Mantis landing pads have been relocated for easier access to various regions on the planets. Revisiting Koboh or other planets throughout the game leads to new pathways and optional areas. These optional locations contain upgrades and abilities that enhance Cal's strength for upcoming challenges. Fast travel via meditation points eases exploration, ensuring easier traversal across the environment. The game features seven High Republic-era Jedi Chambers spread across Koboh, each housing puzzles and challenges that reward the player with upgrades or skill points.
